Violin Sous la direction of Gustave Villaume, Nancy circa 1930 (OV24092)
Length of Back: 357mm)
This violin was made under the direction of Gustave Villaume, a reputable Luthier from Nancy, France. The instrument has great arching, a striking two piece maple back of high quality tonewood. It is finished in a soft honey-like amber varnish and is labelled internally as having been made ‘sous la direction’ of Gustave Villaume.
It has a lovely warm and sweet tone with good volume and would suit a committed classical student or traditional fiddler.
It is set up with Spirocore Strings and Wittner Tailpiece and a delight to play.
A lovely violin from a very respected workshop!
It comes in a new lightweight case.
